The Neurogenesis Project
Through The Neurogenesis Project, the Neuroscience Foundation is achieving more with our initiatives than ever before. We partner with free clinics, mobile clinics, and the like to help improve the lives of others through volunteerism. To promote access to neurological care for the underprivileged, we strive to connect these clinics with resources so their patients may receive neurological care. Start a chapter in your region today!
WHAT DOES A CHAPTER DO?
A chapter is a smaller unit of the Neurogenesis Project. Each chapter focuses on advocating for accessible and equitable neurological care and general healthcare in all parts of the world. You do this by partnering with free clinics, mobile clinics, or similar healthcare institutions and contribute to their effort by volunteering to help them carry out their work, fundraising to help them sustain their establishment, and helping them develop programs to impact families and individuals in need. The chapter also engages in self-development activities as part of the Neuroscience Foundation. You will mimic events and activities that the Neuroscience Foundation does on an international scale and translate it to a more local endeavor. Your chapter will also participate in workshops, webinars, panel sessions, competitions, etc., hosted by the Neuroscience Foundation. Therefore, by starting a chapter, not only are you making neuroscience accessible to your community, but you are also impacting the lives of many individuals and families in need through humanitarianism and by advocating for equitable healthcare.

Initiatives
1
Traumatic brain injury Awareness Week
Our TBI awareness week takes place in March of each year. It is a time for the international team and all our local chapters to come together and advocate, education and raise awareness for TBI patients.
2
Brain Science For the Little Ones
Our free to access vault of teaching material for elementary and primary school teachers. This resource is used by our chapters and local teachers in the United States, Canada, UK and across the world.
3
Neurodiversity Conference
Our Annual end of the year conference is a time for all chapters and various partnered organizations, professors, industry experts and other invited guests to convene and celebrate our achievements for the year.
Types of Chapters
There are 3 types of chapters that can be formed.
Community Chapters
Community chapters' primary objective is to help reduce barriers to equitable healthcare for members of their community. These chapters are set up within a library or community center and work with other organizations in the community to create seminars and events for both new and well-established members of the community.
Course-Based School Chapters
The chapters are structured like a course to encourage student collaboration in completing tasks within self-imposed deadlines and those set by the teacher. Instead of having weekly events and seminars, the focus will be on working towards a year-end goal: organizing a major fundraising event for your clinic or community group. To ensure smooth administration and course setup, teachers need to sign up for this course at least a year in advance and inform the school administration.
School-Based Chapters
These chapters will be run in a club/council format with events, seminars, projects, and volunteer opportunities. Students will collaborate with each other to offer school-wide initiatives that build neuroscience knowledge in the school's community as well as fundraising for clinics near the school.
